Book Report for the month of May 2004
Books Read
- Adams, John Paul, Logistics of the Roman Imperial Army : major campaigns on the eastern front in the first three centuries A.D
A tough read. - Larbalestier, Justine, The Battle of the Sexes in Science Fiction
Liked her article in Reading the Vampire Slayer and bought this. Could have been better it it was more more focused. Lots of interesting stuff about early ScFi stories in the 1930s. - Belfiglio, Valentine J., A study of ancient Roman amphibious and offensive sea-ground task force operations
- Elinor Brent-Dyer, A Leader in Spite of Herself
Not at all what I expected. Very pious. Our hero attempts to cure one of her classmates of snobbishness. - Jack C. Fuson, Transportation and Logistics: One Man's Story
A United States Army logistician discusses his thirty-five years of experience in Army logistics in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
In Progress
- Carrie Fisher, The Best Awful
Semi-biographical novel about a deadbeat Hollywood mother whose husband has left her. - Laurell K. Hamilton, A Caress of Twilight
Sequel to A Kiss of Shadows. Can't seem to get into this one yet. Possibly because I am 40 pages in and nothing has happened.
New on Shelf:
- H. P. Lovecraft, Omnibus 1: At the Mountain of Madness
Bob has loaned me another of his H. P. Lovecraft collection. I think he has forgiven me for that RPG with the Cthulhu monster who turned out to be a big Red Sox fan.
