Went down to EPIC today. There was a Book Fair on and a Computer Market. Mick and Marco were at the Computer Market. Marco recommended LG DVD burners, although they don't come with Nero. He doesn't sell them himself of course... Really, you need a large fish every time you deal with him. Anyhow, I bought one. Now to replace the CD burner in this machine with the DVD burner and eventually install the CD burner in the machine at Mum n' Dad's place.

Book Fair was similar. Looked for copies of Enid Blyton's Mallory Towers series. Picked up a copy of In the Fifth - a 1957 reprint. There was a lady selling books there who was pretty knowledgible about such books and it's such a pity that I am not. She recommended this book by someone called Elinor Brent-Dyer who is apparently very popular. So I bought it.

Usual arvo at the War Memorial. I should probably move on to the Final Campaigns. I just dread them. The welding platoons' war diaries I asked for haven't made the trip from Mitchell yet. So I read through the air maintenance companies. Both the 1st and 3rd had good, gabby diaries. I also found a bug in General Coates' book. He says (on p. 278) that an emergency airdrop of 9mm Owen was made on 22 September 1943 by Boomerangs of No. 4 Squadron RAAF. The 1st Air Maintenance Company says how they loaded it on three American B-24 Liberator bombers. Have corrected the thesis accordingly.
