On Vacation

partly_bouncy has been staying here with me for the last couple of weeks. We started in Sydney with a look at the Harbour Bridge, the Rocks, Circular Key, Darling Harbour, the City of Sydney and Powerhouse Museums and the Taronga Park Zoo. As it happens, we have seen a surprising number of native animals in the wild and up close. Not just the ubiquitous roos and common birds like galahs, cockies, rosellas, seagulls and magpies, but flying foxes, a couple of whales and a pair of emus.

Since moving on to Canberra we've had a look at the Parliament House, High Court, War Memorial, Democracy Museum, Portrait Gallery, National Library, Film and Sound Archive, Australian National University, Defence Force Academy and the Tidbinbilla Deep Space Communication Complex. Plus a couple of day trips down to the Bungendore, Bateman's Bay and Jindabyne. And bike rides around lakes Burley Griffen and Ginninderra.
