Day Off

Took the day off to work on the thesis, although since the chapter on Finschhafen was finished yesterday, I spent it at the War Memorial looking through papers on the 7th Division's campaign in the Markham Valley, and the closure of the US bases in New Guinea in 1945.

While I was there, I ran into General Coates. What a great guy! It was good to see him in good health. He asked me how the thesis was going and all. He seemed to think that New Guinea logistics was a pretty kewl topic and of course he has written a book on the Finschhafen campaign.
