Legal Recognition for ACT Single-Sex Couples

The ACT government has finally managed to secure Legal Recognition for ACT Single-Sex Couples.

This is the second go at this. The previous attempt last year was vetoed by the Governor General. Now that the Federal government has changed there was another attempt. Once again the sticking point was the public ceremony, and the ACT government had to back down on this point. Instead, couples get a taxpayer funded non-legal ceremony.
