First World War Official Histories

The War Memorial has made the First World War Official Histories available online – eleven volumes of the main set, the three medical volumes and Anzac to Amiens. The book of photographs hasn't been digitised, although most of the phiotographs are available in the online database. I have a copy here though – along with all the others. The advantage of the digital copy is that it can be searched electronically. Of course that is only useful if you have the whole book. Set a Perl script to download the chapters and reassemble them back into the books. Too bad the War Memorial don't make them available in this form in the first place. At 50MB a pop, people with broadband could download in the blink of an eye. The rest of us may take a little longer. When they are all downloaded, I'll burn them onto a CD.
