Thesis Update

Jeff thinks that the introduction and conclusion are good, though the introduction is still too brief. He suggested adding a few sentences to explaining the methodology and organisation more fully. The idea is that once explained, the faults become documented limitations, and no one can reasonably criticise on those grounds.

I'm impressed.

Mind you, when doing my own (much shorter, undergrad honours) thesis, I found the intro and conclusion the hardest bits to get right...

Yes, it is. I had the same problem on the Masters thesis. This time Jeff came up with the idea of having a conclusion that is not a summary. Instead, it briefly summarises (in three pages), what happened next - in the sixty years after WWII, from Korea (good) to Vietnam (bad) and East Timor (ugly).
